Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 lb ribeye, filet mignon, or sirloin steak (choose tender cuts)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Shrimp and Lobster Sauce

  • 8 oz medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 oz lobster tail meat, fresh or frozen
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine (such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preparing the Steak: Season the steak generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Heat a skillet over high heat and add butter. Sear the steak on both sides until a golden-brown crust forms. Cook to your desired doneness depending on the thickness. Remove from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes to retain juices.
  2. Cooking the Shrimp and Lobster: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic and shallots until fragrant. Add the shrimp and lobster meat, cooking for 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque but remain tender and juicy. This builds the seafood base for the sauce.
  3. Creating the Creamy Lobster Sauce: Pour white wine into the pan and allow it to reduce by half to concentrate flavor. Stir in heavy cream and season with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens to a silky texture that coats the shrimp and lobster perfectly.
  4. Bringing It All Together: Return the rested steak to the skillet or place on a plate. Generously spoon the creamy shrimp and lobster sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or thyme and serve immediately for a stunning presentation and rich, balanced flavor.

Notes

  • Choose quality fresh or properly thawed seafood to enhance flavor and texture.
  • Avoid overcooking shrimp and lobster to keep them tender and juicy.
  • Allow steak to rest after searing so juices redistribute and the meat stays juicy.
  • When adding wine, deglaze the pan by scraping up browned bits to deepen sauce flavor.
  • Adjust cream simmer time to control sauce thickness; simmer longer for thicker sauce.
