Ingredients

Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries – ripe and firm, quantity as desired (about 20-25 medium-sized)
  • White chocolate chips or melting wafers – 8 oz (approx. 1 1/3 cups)
  • Red velvet cake mix – 2 tablespoons
  • Heavy cream or butter (optional) – 1 teaspoon
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter – for decoration, quantity as desired

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat completely dry with a clean towel. Ensure no moisture remains to help the chocolate adhere properly. Trim green stems if preferred or leave them on for easier handling.
  2. Melt the White Chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and gently melt in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well between each interval until smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of heavy cream or butter if using, to enhance creaminess.
  3. Mix the Red Velvet Cake Mix: Gradually add the red velvet cake mix to the melted white chocolate, stirring continuously until fully incorporated, resulting in a vibrant pink, velvety coating.
  4. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the pink velvet chocolate mixture, coating evenly. Lift and gently shake off any excess chocolate, then place on a parchment-lined tray to set.
  5. Decorate and Chill: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles as desired. Refrigerate the strawberries for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden fully.

Notes

  • Use completely dry strawberries to prevent chocolate from seizing or sliding off.
  • Melt chocolate gently at low heat or in short microwave bursts to avoid burning.
  • For a thinner coating, add a small amount of melted coconut oil to the chocolate mixture.
  • Allow strawberries to come to room temperature before dipping to prevent condensation.
  • Double coat by dipping strawberries twice, letting the first layer set before applying the second, for extra coverage.
