Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 100g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 100g Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes or 1 small fresh chili, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (oregano, dill, or parsley), finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Crumble the feta cheese into a medium bowl. Mince the garlic finely. If using fresh chili, deseed and chop it finely, adjusting the quantity based on your preferred spice level.
  2. Combine Feta and Greek Yogurt: Add the Greek yogurt to the crumbled feta. Mix well until the texture is smooth but still slightly textured, balancing creaminess and tanginess.
  3. Add the Flavor Boosters: Stir in the minced garlic, red chili flakes or fresh chili, and olive oil. Then squeeze in fresh lemon juice for brightness. Season with salt and black pepper cautiously, as feta is already salty.
  4. Fresh Herbs Finish: Finely chop the fresh herbs and fold them into the dip, preserving their vibrant color and flavor. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
  5. Chill and Serve: Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld beautifully. Serve chilled or at room temperature with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Use authentic Greek feta made from sheep or goat milk for the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust chili heat gradually to avoid overpowering the dip.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for optimal brightness and flavor.
  • Allow the dip to rest chilled to intensify the flavors.
  • Optionally warm the dip slightly before serving to enhance aroma and creaminess.
