Cheese Omelet

A classic and comforting Cheese Omelet that’s fluffy, cheesy, and quick to make. Perfect for busy mornings or any time you want a protein-packed, customizable, and satisfying meal using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3 large fresh whole eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyere recommended)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Gather all ingredients. Shred the cheese. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt and pepper, and whisk thoroughly until fully combined and slightly frothy for maximum fluffiness.
  2. Heat the Pan: Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and melt the butter, swirling to coat the entire surface to add richness and prevent sticking.
  3. Add the Eggs: Pour in the whisked eggs. Let them cook undisturbed for a few seconds until they start to set around the edges. Gently push edges inward with a spatula, tilting the pan to allow uncooked egg to flow underneath.
  4. Add the Cheese: When eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over one half of the omelet to ensure melted cheese without overcooking the eggs.
  5. Fold and Finish: Carefully fold the omelet in half using a spatula and cook for another minute until the cheese melts and eggs are cooked through but still moist. Slide the finished omelet onto a plate immediately to serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for a fluffier, better-tasting omelet.
  • Cook on medium-low heat to avoid browning and maintain a tender texture.
  • Do not overfill to keep folding simple and prevent breaking.
  • Whisk the eggs well to incorporate air for fluffiness.
  • Choose cheeses that melt well like mozzarella or cheddar for best results.
